Where Storytelling Meets Strategy
Welcome to my blog—a space where lived experience, trauma-informed care, and creative strategy converge.
My name is Callixta, and I am originally from the vibrant Caribbean island of St. Lucia. I began my journey in the mental health field in 2006, stepping into my first role as a case manager working with individuals experiencing homelessness. That experience shaped my understanding of systemic gaps and deepened my commitment to trauma recovery advocacy.
I hold a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Forensic Psychology, and my career has remained rooted in trauma-saturated care environments ever since. I am currently a student at Walden University, pursuing a Clinical PhD. From working with survivors of coercive control to supporting youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, I have witnessed the resilience of the human spirit—and the urgent need for reform.
This blog is both a personal and professional archive. It is where I explore the intersections of personality theory, trauma recovery, and creative expression. I am very excited about translating grand theories of psychology into survivor-informed sites of healing, truth-telling, and social change. From synthesizing scholarly literature to creating visual identities for advocacy channels, or simply mentoring peers on more complex topics, this is what my work is all about – authenticity and making spaces safe. Here you may find reflections on attachment theory, trauma bonding, and philosophical approaches such as Logotherapy, Humanist Theory, and Critical Constructivism, all woven into narrative strategies that honor lived experience. Storytelling is not just a therapeutic act; to me, it is also a radical act.
I appreciate you for being present in this space. I hope it inspires dialogue, reflection, and a more profound commitment to healing-centered engagement.
